Assignment: In groups, go out for lunch/dinner and register the process as a research project.
Proposal: Join Animal Rebellion and occupy Smithfield’s Meat Market (largest meat market in the U.K.) record the social interaction around food, the cause and the results.
I had the privilege of teaming up with my new vegan friend and classmate Victoria Ye who came up with the brilliant idea of joining this historic moment. Animal Rebellion is a sister movement to Extinction Rebellion, focused primarily on liberation of animals.
The march was peaceful and intended to spread a message of peace, love and respect towards all living and called on to take climate action and shift our dietary habits towards a more sustainable plant based diet and future.
The march ended at Smithfield’s Market, the largest meat market in the U.K., which was turned into a plant based market by the activists.
Experiencing this moment was very inspiring and eyeopening. Special thanks to Victoria for inviting me with her activist friends and for being such an amazing teammate.
